When I resist the tendency to use High air volume the turkey flute performs as advertised. I have been practicing with it and can produce most of the sounds comparable to Mr. Haydel in the tutorial video. This call produces realistic but unique sounds. Season just closed here but I was tempted to go to turkey wood to try this new instrument. I look forward to next year.

I think it is easier to play with the cadence than other styles of calls and easier to learn than a diaphragm call, especially if you are familiar with waterfowl calls. Although I love my box and slate calls this is call is safer in wet conditions. Also this holds well in chest pockets for running and gunning/low crawling without an annoying turkey vest. I would be interested in buying more of these if Haydel GC made a variety of these with different tones and capabilities. I am willing to test some out if needed lol

On the video I found online the call sounded pretty good. I figured I’d give it a try. I’m still working on it. I can make it sound good sometime. Need to work on it to get more consistent with good yelps. It’ll work, but you will need to practice to figure it out, imo.
